The Do-All Outdoors Hot Box 4" Ground Bouncer is pretty flexible when it comes to calibers. You can use anything from .22 to .50, according to the manufacturer's product description. It's made to be tough and self-healing, so it can handle lots of shots without falling apart. That's a big plus if you're planning to mix up your shooting practice.
The target uses a material called Impact Seal, which is meant to self-heal after being hit—kind of neat, right? From what we found, folks generally appreciate being able to shoot a bunch of different calibers without seeing much wear and tear. Some have even said it held up well after taking hundreds of rounds from calibers like .22LR and 7.62x54r.
But it's not all perfect. Some have mentioned that with smaller bullets, like .22, you might not see the target move when it gets hit, which can be annoying if you're relying on that visual cue.
Also, while many like the self-healing feature, a few pointed out that in cold weather, the target might not heal as well and could crack or break.
And just a heads-up: there's a chance for ricochets, especially if you're using less powerful guns, so keeping safety in mind is key.
In general, the Hot Box Ground Bouncer is a fun shooting target and pretty sturdy for its size. It's great if you're into targets that add a bit of a challenge.
Just think about what kinds of guns you'll be using and the weather conditions you'll be shooting in, so you know what to expect, especially if you're working with smaller calibers. For those with bigger guns or shooting when the weather’s nice, it should hold up as claimed.
